FAQ: Partner Channel Consulting for B2B SaaS

FAQ

Honest answers to the questions I hear most

Where do I start if I’m not sure what my channel needs?

Start with a free 30-minute conversation. No slides, no pitch: we look at where growth comes from, what partner activity exists and what your team can support. From there the entry point is usually the Partner Channel Assessment, a fixed-scope, fixed-fee diagnosis with a prioritised plan. It tells you whether you need to build, fix or scale, before you commit to anything bigger.

I already have partners, but they don’t sell. Where do we start?

That is the most common starting point. The Assessment shows where activation breaks down — recruitment, enablement, incentives or the co-selling motion — and gives you a prioritised plan. Then we decide together how involved I should be in fixing it.

How is this different from a consultant, an agency or a full-time hire?

I’m a practitioner, still in the field running partner channels, not an adviser from the sidelines. A typical consultant delivers a framework and leaves; an agency sells activity; a full-time hire needs time to recruit and ramp while the strategy is still being invented. I design and operate the motion with your team, at the level of involvement you choose, and it ends with a program you own.

What does it cost?

The Assessment starts from €2,000 excl. VAT and is a fixed-scope, fixed-fee diagnosis. Every other engagement — advisory, co-pilot or embedded leadership — depends on scope and the level of involvement you choose. There are no recruiting fees, benefits or bonuses, and a 30-day exit clause applies after the foundation phase. For reference, a full-time director costs roughly €132K ($148K) in year one before the first partner deal. I share exact figures in a tailored proposal after the discovery call.

How much time does this require from our team?

It scales with the level you choose. Advisory needs a decision-maker and a regular working session. Co-pilot adds one internal champion and your sales team in joint pipeline reviews. Embedded leadership needs access to the people and systems the channel touches. We agree the exact commitment in the proposal.

What happens when the engagement ends? Do we depend on you?

No. Every playbook, contact, system and process is documented and owned by your company from day one, and your team is trained to run the program independently. If you’re not ready to hire a permanent lead, advisory or embedded leadership can keep the program moving in the meantime.
